Plain terms for a simple app. They are short by legal standards, and worth the read.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Epigraph (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App.
2. What Epigraph is
Epigraph is a mobile application that delivers a daily selection of motivational quotes. It lets you style quotes with customizable Looks, schedule local reminders, save quotes into collections, write quotes of your own, and share quote cards created with the built-in share studio.
3. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Quote cards you create with the share studio may be shared on your personal social media accounts. Part of the catalog consists of short, attributed quotations from modern authors whose work is still under copyright; we do not own those lines and cannot license them to you, so sharing a card carries the same responsibility any quotation carries, and the cards may not be used commercially. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, modify, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or any part of it, including its quote catalog.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Some features require Epigraph Premium, sold as two auto-renewing subscriptions and one lifetime purchase:
- Yearly: $24.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial.
- Weekly: $3.99 per week.
- Lifetime: $59.99 once. It never renews and there is nothing to cancel.
These are the base prices in the US store; the amount varies by region and is charged in your local currency. The exact price is always shown in the App Store or Google Play listing before you confirm a purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you have not canceled.
- Each subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and never renews.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time through the store you purchased from: your App Store account settings or the Google Play subscriptions page. The lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by the store you purchased from, under its own policies, not by Epigraph directly.
5. Content
The catalog mixes public domain texts with short, attributed quotations from modern authors whose work is still under copyright. Every entry was read and checked by a person, and attributions are researched with care, but we make no guarantee of their completeness or accuracy. If you hold rights to a line and want it removed, write to gokhan@gokhangokova.com and we will take it out of the next release.
Quotes you write yourself remain yours, and you are solely responsible for their content.
6. Disclaimer
Epigraph's content is intended for motivation and inspiration only. It is not medical, psychological, financial, legal, or any other form of professional advice, and it is not a substitute for consulting a qualified professional.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Epigraph shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the App.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its effective date. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkiye, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
10. Apple
On Apple devices, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
